Daisyway Coaching Systems

Erica started training and racing bicycles in 1991. After a “life-time” riding horses Erica spent 2 years in Switzerland, training as a dressage rider under the guidance of Fritz Linsenhoff, whose wife won gold at the Seoul Olympic Games in dressage. It was a life-time goal - to go to the Olympic Games - it just turned out to be for a different sport - CYCLING!
After campaigning on the international World Cup circuit from 1994 until 2000 Erica has raced almost every type of cycling discipline ranging from track racing (holding a 10 year African record for the 3000 m women’s pursuit), road cycling, tours (finishing 4th in Tour of Sydney), cross country (ranked 29th in the world) and even downhill racing (jip, finished 11th at a Downhill World Cup!)
Having gained all this experience, coaching became a natural path and she has been coaching since 1997. “I didn’t want other (young) athletes to go through what I went through, so if there is any way I can help them cross a couple of bridges, then that makes me happy.”

Louise Prins completed her post-graduate studies at the Department of Physiological Sciences, Stellenbosch University, where she did most of her work on performance analysis of mountain bikers. A few years later she continued her work on mountain biking and women’s road cycling at the University’s Sport Physiology Laboratory under Prof. Elmarie Terblanche.

Erica got to know Louise years ago, when she did a little lab testing for her own training. It was only later on, once she’d set up her coaching practice, done extensive lab testing with her athletes and became too busy to handle then all, that she approached Louise, as an obvious partner, to assist her with coaching. They officially became partners in June 2005 and haven’t looked back! We use basic principles that are based on science and experience, adapt these principles to suit each individual athlete and monitor them on a monthly basis. We have grown into a new phase – taking our coaching service to a new level.”
